To pick up where I left off, "The Barretts of Wimpole Street" (1982) is a play in which Jeremy plays Robert Browning, opposite Jane Lapotaire as Elizabeth Barrett. The stream had bleps in it, but it’s clearer than the worn-out vhs that’s already on youtube. Because of said bleps being better/worse in some parts, I've uploaded the film in two parts without closed captions (part 1) (part 2). It's also available all in one video with closed captions. Length: about 2 hours and 42 minutes.

The story is that Elizabeth Barrett is ill and writing poetry and corresponding with Robert Browning. He visits her and they fall in love. Romantic era poets! She has a maid named Wilson and a dog named Flush. She and her siblings live at home with their father, who’s stern & controlling and against the idea of any of them falling in love. Their mother has been dead for some years. As you may know, Elizabeth secretly marries Robert.

Before you watch, content warning for controlling & abusive father (and a creepy uncle-niece moment in the middle). Elizabeth’s father is played by Joss Ackland, who played Rucastle in Granada’s “The Copper Beeches.” They sure knew who to call, because he plays frightening father figures awfully well. I felt like I was in the room and feeling scared and tense, but not in the Jeremy-as-Robert-Browning scenes. He’s just the person to come in and cheer me Elizabeth up and and give her life. <3

You'll get used to seeing Jeremy with a Lincoln beard, I promise. Anyway, these two are really good. And I honestly don't remember if I touched up that screencap or not. The film is a little darker than this, I think. Better share another one to be fair.

Ok so I only have two other caps and they're both of Jeremy. (What else would one expect?) At least Jeremy looks like he approves.

btw my heart was so happy to see Jeremy calling on his beloved in Wimpole Street again. :) I'm referring to My Fair Lady (1964), when he played Freddy who sang a whole song T-T about being on the street T-T where Eliza lived--Wimpole Street. T--T Well, now I'm all emotional, but know that I have at least two more videos to eventually share in this "series." :)

I would have titled this "Full length films of varying quality featuring Jeremy Brett..." but that's a bit long, eh?

Some time ago I began uploading some Sherlock Holmes audiobooks read by Edward Hardwicke <3 on youtube (which maybe I'll share in a different post). When I got my hands on some rare-ish Jeremy films, I added them, too. There's nothing quite like that feeling when you're not expecting to find some old movie he was in, and then seeing it right there on the sidebar! :O

The first thing I added was the 1966-7 BBC series of "The Three Musketeers" in which Jeremy plays d'Artagnan. It consists of 10 episodes, all about 25 minutes long and also starring Brian Blessed, Jeremy Young, and Gary Watson. don't ask about the name of the first episode unless you want to hear what a pain it was to upload that episode from dvd *insert "one does not simply" meme here*

Title card of "The Three Musketeers"

Fun fact: This series was directed by Peter Hammond, who directed some of the later Granada Holmes episodes.

Everybody wears a mullet wig.

Jeremy was in a number of BBC Play of the Month productions and I've uploaded two of them--both adaptations of Oscar Wilde's works--to my channel. Both were already available on youtube in a bit fuzzier quality. The first is "An Ideal Husband" (1969) and tbh I get sick of looking at his perfect face framed by his perfectly trimmed sideburns, don't you? Look at him ahhhh

....are you still here? ;) And the second BBC Play of the Month I added was "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (1976). OMG, it's nearly perfect and I won't even go into it, okay, just know that Jeremy as Basil Hallward breaks my heart. And Peter Firth plays Dorian and John Gielgud plays Lord Henry Wotton. Guh!Better add an image to be fair.

You'll get used to the moustache. I promise. You might forget that this is Jeremy.

Then there are three films that I subscribed to a streaming service for and then cancelled. XD You won't tell, will you? The quality of these three isn't great because the streams were a bit patchy. I went a little nuts and recorded them with and without captions. Hey, I was sick in bed for a week and that was a good use of my time! The first is "The Barretts of Wimpole Street" (1982) and it's a play in which Jeremy plays Robert Browning, opposite Jane Lapotaire as Elizabeth Barrett. Oh, man...um, the page just reloaded and it's in html editor now and it won't let me switch back to rich text and tbh I'm not up for doing the rest of this in html atm...I'll have to continue in a further post. :/ But! I hope you check out some of Jeremy's older stuff mentioned here--it's already a lot to work with. :) Cheers!
